Scientists have determined how much plastic any animal can eat

Studies have been conducted that examined the contents of the intestine of more than 2,000 animals.

As a result, just an equation was created that indicates a plastic item of what size a particular animal can swallow. On average, this is 5% of the animal ‘s body length.

Experts found plastic in the digestive system of freshwater and marine mammals, fish, reptiles, invertebrates. It was found in humpback whales and boys as well.

For example, a shotgun was found in the whale, kashalots managed to swallow hoses and flower slides, and green turtles – plastic banana bags. All of this points to appalling levels of pollution by plastic and foreign debris.
