For a long time, scientists have known that our Universe is not static – it is constantly expanding in 1998, the fact that the universe was expanding became even more “strange” after two groups of astrophysicists independently concluded that the expansion rate was increasing. By the way, the scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize for that discovery. About the “engine” that is responsible for the expansion of the universe, scientists have a number of hypotheses, one of which describes objects like black holes, consisting entirely of mysterious dark energy. And recently, a group of astrophysicists theoretically described how these objects are formed, how they “work” and where they might be located.

Let us remind our readers that the term “dark energy” was introduced into science solely to explain the fact of the accelerated expansion of the Universe. Later, scientists calculated that this mysterious matter-energy accounts for at least 68 percent of everything that exists in the universe. And, despite all the attempts that have been made, we don’t know yet what dark energy really is.

According to the hypothesis that was mentioned just above, an unknown form of energy can be trapped in an exotic class of space objects called GEODE (Generic Objects of Dark Energy). Outwardly, such objects should differ little from black holes, with the exception of their structure. The core GEODE, consisting of dark matter, should be surrounded by rotating layers, which determine the type of influence of this object on everything around.

Researchers at the University of Hawaii have calculated that if the outer layers of GEODE objects rotate slowly enough, then such objects should be strongly attracted to each other, collide and merge, doing all this as much faster than the same happens with black holes. At the same time, no matter how mind-blowing it may sound, GEODE objects receive their mass as a result of the expansion of the Universe. But if the outer layers of GEODE objects rotate at a speed much higher than the speed of light, then the opposite effect occurs, these objects begin to repel each other and from everything around them, in other words, they create forces that stimulate the accelerated expansion of the Universe.

The discovered dependence of the type of influence on the environment on the rotation speed of the upper layers of GEODE objects came as a complete surprise to us, “the researchers write,” If all this is confirmed by the results of observations, a completely new class of cosmological phenomena will be discovered. “

In addition to the above, the results of the studies carried out indicate that if GEODE objects exist in reality, they are the most “accurate” solution to the problem of dark energy. And the “work” of these exotic objects can be described by some of Einstein’s equations, in which minor changes and additions are made.

According to the new theory, many of them is very first stars in the Universe could have left GEODE objects rather than black holes after their death. These objects would gradually “suck” stars, planets, gas, dust and other matter from the surrounding space, slowly increasing their mass, dimensions and accelerating the speed of rotation of the outer layers. And when this speed exceeded a certain threshold, GEODE objects would start repelling from each other and from everything else, contributing to the acceleration of the expansion of the Universe.

Scientists argue that their hypothesis is consistent with the results of many observations of the depths of space. At the initial stage of the development of the Universe, there were a lot of stars in it, which gave rise to the number of GEODE objects, sufficient to explain the acceleration of the expansion process. Moreover, GEODE objects have nothing to do with the relict cosmic microwave background, since they were “born” hundreds of millions of years after this radiation filled the volume of the Universe.

Of course, the theoretical description of the possibility of the existence of GEODE objects and the agreement of this fact with existing theories is one thing, but obtaining direct evidence of this fact is quite another. However, obtaining factual evidence of the existence of GEODE-objects will be a very difficult task, due to their similarities and differences with black holes, none of the most modern astronomical instruments, including gravitational observatories, can help in this matter. However, one should not completely lose hope, because at any moment some new discovery may be made that will allow creating new types of observations of space and new types of astronomical instruments based on them.
